Adolescent Outpatient Chemical Dependency Program

The Adolescent Outpatient Chemical Dependency Program is designed specifically for individuals age 13-18, and provides services that are tailored to the specific needs of adolescents; assisting them in building a life free of chemical use while being culturally sensitive to each individual.   The program consists of two phases:


Phase I: Three afternoons per week for three hours, 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm for 8 weeks


Phase II: One afternoon per week for three hours, 4:00pm – 7:00 pm for 8 weeks


During these sessions, a counselor addresses the following issues:


  • Chemical Use

  • Mental Health

  • Relationship Health

  • Living Skills—such as ironing, sewing, etc.

  • Employment

  • Legal Issues

  • Community Resource Connections

  • Assisting in building a sober support network

  • Participation in sober social events and giving back to the community


The specific programs and services offered through the Adolescent Outpatient Chemical Dependency Program are:


  • Co-occurring Chemical dependency and behavioral health treatment

  • Group programming specific to adolescents

  • Family group programming

  • Mental health diagnostic assessments

  • Community speakers and educators

  • Individual and family behavioral health services

  • Referrals to medication prescribers on site

  • In-home family therapy


The Arrowhead Center, Inc.’s adolescent program is licensed by the state of Minnesota Department of Human Services, Rule 31.
